| About Ultimate Church |
 |
On Wednesday night May 18, 1955, twenty-seven people met for the first time at 5120 Franklin Road at what would become the Ultimate Church. By the following Sunday morning the number grew to fifty-two members as a charter group.
An Antebellum house served as the first meeting location for the church family. However rapid growth during its first three years soon made the mansion inadequate for worship services.
In 1958 construction began on a 280 seat auditorium. By 1970 continued growth led to the construction of a 5500 square foot classroom addition.
The Church continued to experience steady growth. In 1979, the congregation moved into a new auditorium, seating 650, and a Family Life Center was also constructed.
Growth has continued, now in the late 1990's two tempory class rooms have been removed giving us a 750 seating capacity. Two morning worship services are needed to accommodate the more than 1000 people now regularly attending Ultimate Church.
A building committee is actively planning for additional education facilities.
The Ultimate Church has always had a strong interest in missions, supporting efforts both overseas and in other parts of the United States. Local missions such as Inner City, Youth Encouragement Services, Room In The Inn, Disaster Relief Effort and Agape are supported by Ultimate Church.
Long known as a "family for families", the congregation is experiencing great spiritual and numerical growth as God works among his people. Blessed by a great heritage, the congregation looks forward to the future with prayerful and joyous expectation.
